It’s almost a new year. I can’t believe 2016 is already over and now we’re onto 2017. I have big plans for myself this coming year. I’m making a lot of changes, and I’m excited about it. I feel like every year I make resolutions and follow through for less than a week. Pathetic, I know. But not this year. I’m following through, join me?
I have several things that I want to work on this year, and I’m excited about each one of them.
The first one is discipline. Without it, none of my other goals will happen. I have very little discipline for myself. It’s something that I struggle with. I have healthy habits that I want to start for myself and my motivation to do them will get me started, but I will need discipline to make them stick and become part of my routine.
The second one is exercise and clean eating. I know, I know, this is 99% of peoples new year resolutions, but its something I’m really committing to. A healthier lifestyle is something I desperately need and am ready to accomplish. It’s going to require a lot of sacrifice (goodbye daily desserts, pray for me) but most good things usually do.
The third one is spending time with God. This is the most important. My time spent with God is embarrassingly low. He is the most important thing in my life, but my actions show otherwise. I need to spend more time working on my relationship with Him. Every single day, praising Him in some way. Whether that’s in prayer, bible study, or something else.
My last one is less screen time. Again, the amount of time I spend on my phone is embarrassing. I’m ready to put it down and move on. When I think about how much I could get done if I wasn’t on my phone, it almost makes me sick. I could easily just not use it, but again, my discipline is not that great.
My last goal is that I want to do is focus on me. This is also something that is important to me. I’ve spent that last 4 years focusing on being a mother and wife and absolutely nothing else. I love being a mother and wife, it’s my favorite thing to do, but now I want to focus on me and my dreams too. I love this blog, and in 2017 I will spend more time working on it. I will also start pursing my own dreams. I’m very excited for the things to come.
I truly believe that if I can accomplish each of these things, in some way, then I will be a better wife, mother, and woman.
I created a January calendar for you to visualize your goals and when you’re going to do them! You can download mine, if you have similar things you want to accomplish. Or you can download the plain one and fill it in with your own schedule! Just enter your email here. I’d love to know what your resolutions are too! Leave a comment below! Happy new year!
